Patricia Main Obituary

Patricia L. Main passed away on September 7, 2025, at Franciscan Hospice in University Place, Washington. She was born in Tacama, Washington on October 31, 1938, to Rose and George Porenta.

A graduate of Stadium High School's Class of 1956, Pat lived in Gig Harbor, Washington for over five decades. She enjoyed a long career with the Tacoma Public Library, was an accomplished seamstress, loved reading mystery novels, watching Masterpiece Theatre, and was a devoted fan of the Seattle Mariners (she would be overjoyed that they made it to the playoffs).

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Main.

She is remembered by her four daughters: Shirley Johnson (Doug) of Portland, Oregon; Judy Hazelton (Dale) of Tacoma, Washington; Patty Sanstad (Bob) of Rice, Washington; and Jennifer Rodriguez (Ralph) of Tacoma, Washington. Her legacy continues through her six grandchildren-Claire Millbauer (Greg), Andrew Johnson, Taylor Buck, Hannah Buck, Emma Rodriguez, and Madison Rodriguez-and one great-grandchild, Elio Cruz.

A memorial gathering to honor Pat's life will be held on Friday, October 31 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kindship Studio, located at 4793 Point Fosdick Drive #200, Gig Harbor (in the Uptown Shops).

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Published by News Tribune (Tacoma) from Oct. 9 to Oct. 12, 2025.
