Tacoma, Washington - Paul Matthew Maxey passed away to eternal peace on January 3, 2024. He was surrounded and nurtured by family and friends at his side. Born on June 20, 1974 in Tacoma, Washington to Charles and Ines Vicente-Alvarez Maxey, Paul is proceeded in death by his loving parents and brothers, Michael and Mark and is survived by his sisters and brothers John, Ruth, Deborah, Priscilla, Rebekah, James, Maria and Elizabeth Maxey. With a passion and commitment to his place of employment as a Security Officer and his many accolades local and charitable programs that he was involved with Pierce and King County Police Department and being an advocate for providing safety and security to and for his community, Paul has returned to God, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and will be alive in our hearts forever. At this time, the family would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to those who have expressed their love, care, grace and prayers towards Paul and his family.

My thoughts and prayers are with Maxey's family. I just found out about this and I am at a loss for words. I worked with him at St Joe's for several years and we have stayed in touch for over a decade. He was a genuine human and just an all around good person and he will be missed greatly.

I am beyond floored. I worked with Paul for 4 years at SJMC. He was one of my dearest friends. We talked about everything. His faith and dedication to people was unmatched. He opened his home to his co workers for parties and his heart for support. THEY DON´T MAKE MEN LOLE THIS ANYMORE. The world is a much darker place. I wish I had known he was declining, but he never burdened anyone with his problems, he was very private unless he knew you. I will miss you Mad Max, you were truly an incredible human being.

Paul made me laugh all through Truman days. And could see him many years in between and he could do the same thing. Special guy. Will be missed.
