Robert James Chabo

Robert James Chabo Say not in grief, "He is no more," but live in thankfulness that he was. Robert Chabo died quietly at his home in Edgewood, Washington, on February 9, 2007. He was born on June 6, 1924, to James and Hazel McClintock Chabo in Midwest, Wyoming and was the oldest of four children. Wyoming was always "home" to Bob and he enjoyed vacationing in the Big Horn Mountain area, attending the Midwest Days Picnic and playing golf with friends and family. Robert proudly served his country for 30 years in the U.S. Navy. During his distinguished career, he served aboard 10 battleships, three destroyers, and several repair ships. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He was a Navy recruiter in Miles City, Montana when he met and married his wife of 42 years, Florence, who preceded him in death last year. He is survived by his son Max Chabo and wife Jan, daughter Valerie O'Neal and husband Bruce, grandchildren Max and Caitlin O'Neal, brother Dorsey Chabo, sister Nancy Hubatka, several nieces, nephews, and other beloved friends and family members. Per his wishes, there will be no funeral services. There will be a celebration of his life in Buffalo, Wyoming, in July.
