ROBERT EHLERS Obituary

Robert William Ehlers Was born January 28th, 1926 in North Dakota to William and Drusilla Ehlers. Bob lived most of life in the Tacoma area; the last 20 in Lacey. He served in the US Army Air Corps in WWII, and then married Sally Lowe. Bob and Sally had 4 children. Bob was an optician by trade. Bob loved to take long drives, particularly to the Washington coast or the Cascades. He instilled his love of the outdoors to his children and grandchildren; always taking someone fishing or sightseeing. He never got enough of Mt. Rainier. Bob was a loving man who accepted people for who they were and not what they had. His sense of humor and love of games made Bob a favorite addition to any crowd. Bob is survived by his partner Irene Carter, his brother Harold (Delores) Ehlers of Bonsall, California, his children Pam Topping, Craig Ehlers, Paula Ehlers, Cindy Yarbrough, and Patrick Ehlers, 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his first wife Sally, and his second wife Evelyn. The family wishes to thank the staff of Samarinia's Adult Family Home in Puyallup for the months of excellent care of our father and grandfather.
