Robert Gustavson

Robert E. Gustavson Bob Gustavson of Portland, OR, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2008, from renal cell cancer. He was 61 years old. Bob was born on September 12, 1946, in Seattle to Eric and Edna (Erickson) Gustavson. Bob grew up in Burien, WA and lived throughout the PNW as an adult. Bob graduated with his BS in Forestry from Oregon State University. Bob loved nothing better than to be in the woods. Even when he worked in management, he cherished the field days when he could be among the trees, regardless of the weather. At the time of his death, Bob held his dream job as the District Forester for both the Forest Grove and Tillamook Districts, supervising all activity supported by the two Oregon Department of Forestry Districts. Bob's hobbies were golf, geocaching, fishing, woodworking and biking. He cherished recreating with his kids and playing with his granddaughter. Bob was preceded in death early in life by his parents and his sister, Karen Gustavson Snell. He is survived by his Life Partner, Joy Wilkins of Portland, his children Eric (Jaime) Gustavson of La Grande, OR, and Jodi Gustavson of Puyallup, WA, and his beloved granddaughter Melissa of Puyallup, WA. He is also survived by his step-mother, Caryl Knab of Newberg, OR, and his step-sisters Linda (Dick) Kilbride of Newport, OR, and Kathy (Bob) Knowles of Newberg, OR, as well as Joy's family. A memorial open house will take place on Saturday, May 17th, from 1pm to 3pm in Portland. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to the Bob Gustavson Memorial Fund at the Tillamook Forest Center (Tillamook Forest Heritage Trust, P.O.
