Steven Rose Obituary

Steven Alan Rose

April 19, 1950 - April 12, 2025

Tacoma, Washington - Steven Alan Rose, born April 19, 1950, passed away on April 12, 2025. He grew up in Tacoma, Washington, and graduated from Franklin Pierce High School in 1968. In the 1970s, Steven worked at Boeing before launching his own business, Rose and Son's, later known as Steve's Construction Service. As a builder and entrepreneur, he poured dedication and craftsmanship into everything he created, passing along the gift of building to his sons, sharing not just his skills, but his pride in hard work and doing things right. Steven loved the ocean and found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially flying kites. More than anything, he cherished his family. He was a devoted father to Adam and Brandon Rose, and a proud grandfather to five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Ryder Rose, with whom he shared love, laughter, and quiet moments. Though he liked to pretend otherwise, he secretly adored her garden, especially the bright orange flowers that always caught his eye. He will be remembered for his strong hands that built homes, flew kites, and held his family close, and for the big heart that guided everything he did. He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him - and then some...

Steve was a great neighbor and friend. He saved my house from burning by racing to get a hose and putting out the fire. That's Steve Alan Rose!

Thank you for being my dad and for taking us along for a lifetime of memories.
From job sites to kite flying at the beach, you turned everyday moments into lasting ones. You gave us more than a childhood. You gave us your time, your strength, and your love.

Thank you for raising me into the man I am today. Thank you for the kindness, and for the times you were tough. I´ll carry your lessons with me always. I miss you more than words can say.

Let your kite fly high, and your spirit soar even higher.

Steven was an amazing father and grandfather, and as his daughter-in-law, I feel so lucky to be part of the family he built. He was a good man who raised two wonderful sons and, from the start, treated me like a daughter. One of the kindest men I´ve known, his love for his family was steady and deep. I´ll always be grateful for his support, his sense of humor, and the way he made our lives better just by being in them. He is so dearly missed, but I know he´s watching over us now, and we will see him again one day.
