TERRI LA FARGE Obituary

Terri La Farge 12-17-1952- 4-19-2013 Terri La Farge passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on April 19th with her loving family by her side. She was a woman with a heart of gold and her smile would light up a room. Terri was born in Oslo, Norway and immigrated with her family to America when she was 9. She graduated from Lincoln High School. Terri worked in title insurance and real estate where she was very well respected and loved. She had a way of making everyone feel special. Many clients became her friends. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She was a caregiver extraordinaire and took care of several loved ones in their final time. She spent her days with her granddaughter, Norah, and they were best friends and playmates. One of her favorite pastimes was swimming and soaking up the sun by her pool. She also enjoyed fishing, camping, bonfires, trips to Hawaii and Harley rides with the love of her life, Tom Strand. She especially loved the spring and had just planted her pots with springtime flowers. She is preceded in death by her beloved son, Frankie, and her father, Erling Johansen, Karl Westermark and his mother, Farmor. She is survived by her mother Inger Johansen, sister Eva Piwonski (Kim), brothers Arne and Ivar Johansen, daughter, Jill Westermark, sons Kevin Westermark and Darrell La Farge, granddaughters Norah and Mariah, and extended family. Terri will be remembered for her beauty, amazing character, grace, wisdom and being a wonderful adviser to many. A memorial to celebrate Terri's life will be held Friday, May 10th, 2013, at 2:00pm at Mt. View Funeral Home in the Valley Chapel with a reception to follow. Dear Jill & Kevin ~
I only now heard of the loss of your mom. She was such a good friend to me for many years and we had a lot of laughs. I spent a lot of time at your house when you two were little and worked with her, too. I bumped into her a couple of months ago at the grocery store - she had Norah with her - she was so proud of that little girl. I remember you all so fondly and am so very very sorry for your loss. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I missed her memorial, however, I was there for the great times and that's what matters. With fond memories and love, Diana Christiansen

I will always remember Terri's positive attitude no matter the difficulty of the situation in both her business and personal life. I have told many people over the years that if anyone could sell a piece of property it was Terri. Terri became a fast friend and I enjoyed my time with her over the years. It was apparent that the most important things in her life were her family and her beloved Tom. I am so sorry for your loss - it is everyone's loss.

Mere words cannot express the sadness I feel that Terri was taken from us so unexpectedly. She was a good friend to me for the past 35 years and I will never forget her. She loved me unconditionally and I could tell her anything and know she wouldn't judge me. She made me feel like I was special. She was a role model to me as a mother and a friend and a mentor to me in the real estate business. I have a few stories to tell at her Celebration of life and hope that I will be back from Orcas Island in time to be there!

20 years ago this June, Terri sold my parents their home. I was 10yrs old at the time & when the sellers moved they took the basketball hoop (my brother & I were so upset). Terri went out & bought us a basketball hoop & basketball as a welcoming gift & had it installed.

sometimes the simplest, kindest gestures can have the hugest impact on a child. I'll be 30 this year & that has always stuck with me.

ironically I ended up working in title & escrow and have been in this industry for 11 years now. the last time I saw Terri, she asked how my parents were & if they still enjoyed the home, etc. “I told her absolutely.. So much so they still live there.” we talked about the basketball hoop & she remembered our pets & my brother & I as small children.

she was such a neat lady & I'm glad I have such fond memories of her. my sincerest & warmest thoughts go out to her family & friends.

xo.

Terri was a second mom to me and she will greatly missed. She would do anything for anybody. I can see her now making sure her hair, nails and tan were perfect. She will be greatly missed by all. My family loves you Terri.
