THOMAS MCMONIGLE Obituary

Thomas George McMonigle Thomas George McMonigle passed away September 1, 2018 in Tacoma, WA. He was born May 18, 1929 to William James and Charlotte (Copp) McMonigle in Yelm, WA, and raised on the family dairy farm, Maxvale Guernsey Farm. Tom graduated with the Class of 1950 from Yelm High School, and served in the U.S. Army from February 13, 1951 to January 29, 1953. He worked at Wilcox Farms in Roy, WA, retiring in 1992. He continued in the egg delivery business as a hobby until recent years. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose (Lakes, WA), and Rainier and Yelm Senior Centers. Tom was a participant in the Washington State Fair from his youth through adulthood. He last volunteered in 2017. He also organized the Four Corners Easter Egg Hunt in Yelm, and it brought joy to him and the community for over 50 years. Tom treasured his family and enjoyed family gatherings. He was a card player, whether it be pinochle, rummy, solitaire, or cribbage. He loved meeting new people and conversing with them. He is survived by his brother, David Robert McMonigle, DVM, of Kent, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers James, William, John, and Albert; and sisters Jananne, Elizabeth, Charlotte, and Ruth. Services will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, Washington, on October 12, 2018 at 12:30 pm. Please share memories at www.FuneralAlternatives.org.
