Thomas George Redding

Thomas George Redding Thomas George Redding left this world in the arms of Jesus on May 21, 2019. Born in Tacoma Washington April 13, 1949 to Frank & Josephine (Messmer) Redding. He laughingly jested that he made the earth "move", remembering the earthquake that day. When he was 10 years old his family relocated to Tooele, Utah where his father took a job at the Army Depot. Ever on his mind for making money, he began mowing lawns to support one of his favorite hobbies - Hunting. He made a lot of close friend in Tooele and upon high school graduation, he dropped those friends off at college and he joined the Marine Corps. He was promptly sent to Vietnam serving in artillery firing off 105 howitzers from various mountain tops. Tom was very proud to be a Marine. He was honorably discharged earning the rank of Sergeant. In 1970, he moved back to Tacoma WA and opened a lawn mower repair shop, establishing strong relationships within the community. He moved on to the restaurant and lounge arena owning and operating several places for over 25 years. Tom was well known and respected by many. He mentored his employees and built very close friendships with his customers. They all knew they could count on him for advice or help. He will be sorely missed. Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his step mother Jann Redding, his loving and devoted wife of 17 years, Susan, Sons Lance (Kara) Redding, Bryce and Mike Redding, grandchildren Austin, Hunter, Leeim, Sage and Juliana Redding.
