Timothy Hunt Obituary
Timothy Ward Hunt
June 29, 1956 - June 18, 2023
Shoreline, Washington - After a valiant interaction with the waters of Lake Pearrygin, Timothy Ward Hunt left his large, joyful life on Sunday, June 18, 2023.
Born in Anaheim, CA in 1956 to Dolores Bovaird and David Hunt, Tim will leave an unusually quiet, empty seat at the family dinner tables of his (wife) Anne Suruda Bingham, (stepsons) Dermot & Anton Bingham, (brother) David & Rita Hunt, (brother) Robert, (nephew) Randy & Angel, (niece) Melanie & James Marshall, (nephew) Ryan Kennard, (niece) Ava Marshall, (nephew) Andrew Hunt & Jhay Leonette Lopez Hunt, (nephews) Colin & Annikin, (niece) Abby Hunt, (nephew) Jonathan Hunt. His Suruda in-laws Tony, Joe, Phillip, Ed & Rene, Sam, Jack & Ally, Peter & Jo, Astrid, Caitlin, Paul, Andy, and Jim will miss his company, cooking, and good humor. Tim spent his formative years in Tacoma, and was a 1974 graduate of Stadium High.
Tim was gratified to have dedicated 35 years to building airplanes by running mainframe computers, and sending and receiving emails for the Boeing company.
Tim enjoyed many years of playing in the 133rd Guard Band and was a proud retiree of the Army National Guard. An ardent accordionist, his bands Global Cooling, Polka Service, and Ca Gaze brought rhythm, joy, and a whole lot of foxtrot to community events, dances, and Folklife. Many thanks are due to the jazz community and all musicians who played with Tim at jam camps, open mics, weekly practices, and his famous backyard parties.
Tim's active life included strong communities around parasailing, cycling, hiking, camping, ballroom dancing, and skiing. His skiing friendships took him to slopes all over the world and his most satisfying experiences were as a ski instructor. Tim had many years of mischievous merry-making, travel, and sport with the cadre from Skibacs.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, even his dentist. Thank you to everyone for making Tim's life incredibly rich.
There will be a celebration of Tim's life at the Shoreline Elks Lodge, 14625 15th Ave NE, Shoreline, WA 98155, on Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 1:00 to 4:00pm. If you are inclined to bring a potluck dish, it would be welcome. We hope there will be live music.
Memorial donations can be made to Jazz Night School, where Tim enjoyed learning, playing at the Royal Room & Jazzathon, marching in the Columbia City parade, and making and deepening many wonderful friendships.
