Timothy Sturgis Obituary
Greece: After a strong fight, Timothy is at rest on October 19, 2013, at age 48. He is survived by his parents, William Sr. and Noreen Sturgis; his son, Joseph Sturgis; wife, Christine Sturgis; brother, William Jr. Sturgis; special friend and devoted caregiver Sue Smiroldo; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Timothy's family would like to thank the Doctors and staff of Wilmot Cancer Center and the Palliative Care Center at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Timothy's visitation will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from 2-4 PM and 7-9PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Rd., Greece Chapel. Timothy's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, October 23, 2013, 9:30 AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 5000 Mt. Read Blvd, Greece NY. Interment will follow Mass in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wilmot Cancer Center or American Cancer Society in Timothy's memory. So very sad to see that Tim has passed my heartfelt condolences to all of his family. I hadn't seen him in over 30 years but he was such a prominent part of my childhood in Valley Brook and was like a big brother to me. We shared the same birthday April 14th 5 years apart. I have so many great memories of Tim & growing up in that neighborhood. Will never forget him, RIP my friend.

Tim, I met you this past summer at Al & Debbie's house. I was aware of your illness, but very impressed with how you carried yourself...a huge smile on your face, greeting me with such enthusiasm that day. Al spoke of you often, referring to you as 'his brother Timmie', with much love, telling stories of the many times you spent together. He is truly heartbroken, but will carry you proudly to your final resting place. My heartfelt sympathy to all who loved him.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Sturgis family.Saturday morning bowling will not be the same. We all know how he loved to watch Joe bowl.He gave our daughter Kara many words of wisdom over the years which we know she has appreciated.That is the way Tim was and should always be remembered as helpful and caring man.He will always be in our hearts.

To the Sturgis family. We didn't know Tim, but seeing his photo he had to be as gregarious and outgoing as his Mom and Dad. Losing someone so young is a loss for everyone both family and friends. Remember both the good and trying times. Smiles, tears and laughter never to be forgotten.

Chris, Joey, Noreen and Bill,
I am so sorry to read of Tim's passing. I will forever be thankful for having been lucky enough to have been his neighbor and friend for years while living on Arlidge Drive. Bowling leagues,parties and countless hours just sitting and talking on the front steps will be treasured memories of what a great person Tim was. He always put a smile on my face and he always had one on his. Tim, you were not only USDA choice..you were the Prime cut!
