William Amber Obituary

William E. (Bill) Amber

February 3, 1933 - March 9, 2025

Tacoma, Washington - AKA John William (JW) Amber was born in Renton Wa. and stayed in the Seattle area until moving to Olympia in 1972. His grandfather immigrated here from Italy, he was very proud of his Italian heritage. He married Delores Austin in 1957. Though no longer married, she preceded him in death by just 17 days. They had 3 children together, Jeffrey Shane, Jennifer Gail Jimenez (John) and Steven Craig. As a young adult he worked as a photographer at Longacres then went on to work in the photofinishing business ending up as vice president of Waynes Photofinishing before starting his own business. He enjoyed golfing as Bill (Shoeshine) Amber, playing many rounds at Foster Golf Course in Seattle and was a longtime member of Fircrest Country Club in Fircrest. He had a second home in Mesa Az where he enjoyed spending time at the pool and having a good cigar. He truly was an unforgettable character! Along with his children, he is survived by 3 granddaughters Courteney Amber Olson, Kendall Ashlin Olson and Jordyn Makenzie Jimenez and his sister Michele.
