Alexander Wittbrod-Rouse Obituary

It is with heart breaking sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our son AleXander Avery Michael "Xander" Wittbrod-Rouse, who left us on October 05, 2025 at the tender age of 16. He passed peacefully and quietly into the arms of the angels while he slept. Born on May 13, 2009 at Methodist hospital in Indianapolis, IN to parents Jenna Rouse and Timothy Wittbrod. Where only moments after his birth he graced this world with his beautiful smile.

Xander was a spirited child that loved to dress up in costumes for any ordinary outing. He was active from an early age doing Mommy and me classes. As a toddler, he tried many times to be the twelfth man on his older brother's football teams. When he was three, he started playing various sports for himself. While he played many rec sports during his short yet beautiful life for the NYB, FBC, and the CDC. He found his passion with the IYHA where he started learning hockey at the sweet age of three.

Xander attended preschool at the Carmel United Methodist Church, and Carmel Lutheran Church, and daycare at the Church at the Crossing. He attended Forest Dale Elementary and Clay Middle School in Carmel. Most recently Xander was a Junior at Carmel High School where he was an active athlete. He was a defenseman for the Carmel Icehounds. He was a thrower on the Carmel Track team. And he was part of the Carmel football team his sophomore year. He was a student in the engineering and

automotive pathways.

Additionally, Xander was interested in photography, planes, trains and cars. He had dreams of attending Purdue to study aeronautical engineering and/or motorsports. He wanted to be able to design planes and race cars so they could be more aerodynamic. In his sparse free time, he enjoyed gaming on his computer, riding his bike on the Monon, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member and volunteer at the Sheridan First Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18 at 3:00 pm at Cicero Christian Church 1715 Stringtown Pike Cicero, IN 46034, where a reception will be held following the service

He is survived by his parents, Jenna Rouse of Carmel and Timothy (Maleana) Wittbrod of Sheridan; his siblings, Grayson Wittbrod of Chicago, Eli Wittbrod of Bloomington, Autumn Wittbrod of Indianapolis, and Scarlett and Henry Wittbrod of Sheridan; grandparents, Margaret Rouse, Robert and Sally Wittbrod, and William "BK" Kelly. In heaven, Xander joins his unborn siblings and cousins as well as the loving arms of his grandparents, Ethel Kelly, Nancy Ramsey and Marvin Rouse, his uncle, Tim Rouse and other extended heavenly family. They will accept, love and support him until his other loved ones are called up to join him. Rest in Peace our sweet angel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a fund that is being developed, the Alexander Wittbrod-Rouse Legacy Fund, to assist future hockey players.
