A devoted woman of faith, Carole dedicated her life to God and was a lifelong member of Freetown Church of Christ, where she was also active in the Loyal Daughters group at the church. Her commitment to her church was unwavering, as she taught Bible school and Sunday school, sang in the church choir, and devoted her time to visiting the sick and shut-ins.

Mrs. Scott was a proud 1955 graduate of Brownstown High School.

Carole was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She cherished her family and friends with all her heart and found true joy in spending time with each of them. Carole also had a deep passion for helping others and took great delight in tending her garden.

Carole embraced her role as a homemaker until 1974, when she began her rewarding career at the Brownstown School Corporation. She touched the lives of many students during her time at Freetown Elementary School, where she worked as a cook for 28 years.

Carole was a beacon of kindness, always finding the good in others and offering help to those in need, embodying the love of God through her actions. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her loving spirit, and her dedication to her family and community. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Born on October 1, 1937, in Brownstown, Carole was the daughter of Mancil G. and Mildred G. (Motsinger) Baughman, both of whom preceded her in death. On July 21, 1955, in Freetown, she married her sweetheart, Billy Francis Scott, and he preceded her in death on August 26, 2023.

Survivors include three sons: William Dwayne Scott of Brownstown, Kendall R. (Nancy) Scott of Columbus, and Brian T. Scott (Tamala White) of Medora. Carole's legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Christopher (Bailey) Scott, Sarah Williams, Kirstie (David) Bowman, Brittany (Devin) Kinworthy, Adam Scott, and Lauren Wetterau; as well as her great-grandchildren: Charley, Keilen, Kennedy, Riley, Mylee, Zoey, Briar, Jack, Harper, and Hayden; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Ray Hallett.
