Larry Fox Obituary

Larry D. Fox, age 76, of Norman, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of Thursday, January 30, 2025, on his family farm.

Mr. Fox was a devoted member of Liberty Christian Church throughout his life, always willing to assist whenever help was needed. In his later years, Larry fully surrendered his life and embraced Jesus.

Larry graduated from Purdue University with a Mechanical Engineering degree and then began his career at Cummins Engine Company in 1970 as a Technical Specialist in Research and Development including emissions and combustion. He later joined Smith & Company, where he worked until his retirement in 2023.

Mr. Fox grew up working on his family farm, which sparked his lifelong love for farming. He was a generous man, deeply committed to his family, and took great pride in spending time with his grandchildren. He had a passion for studying genealogy and dedicated much of his time to restoring old cemeteries.

Born on November 27, 1948, at home in Seymour, Larry was the son of Tommy and Ruth (Curry) Fox, both of whom preceded him in death. On September 10, 1977, at Liberty Christian Church, he married the love of his life, Darlene Callahan, and she survives in Norman.

Survivors also include three sons: Larry Douglas, Jr. of Heltonville, Travis (Kim) Fox of Columbus, and Rob (Rebecca) Fox of Norman; one daughter, Kristy (Allen) Graffa of Columbus; one brother, Jerry W. (Shelley) Fox of Bedford; nine grandchildren: Shane Fox, Jacob Graffa, Colton Graffa, Marinn Fox, Lucy Fox, Tike Fox, Rose Fox, Reuben Fox, and Amelia Fox; three nephews: Jay (Tammy) Fox, Justin (Lana) Blackwell, and Jeremy (Jennifer) Fox; and one niece, Tasha (Billy) Martin.

Funeral services for Larry D. Fox will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Liberty Christian Church, with Pastor Ronnie Plummer officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., and from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Liberty Christian Church.
