Nancy Brock Obituary
Nancy Ellen (Duncan) Brock, age 79, of Brownstown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Covered Bridge Health Campus, Seymour.
Mrs. Brock had a strong faith and was a lifelong, devoted member of Brownstown Christian Church. Her faith guided every aspect of her life and was reflected in all that she pursued. She took great pride in raising her children in the church and seeing her children and grandchildren baptized at Brownstown Christian Church. Nancy dedicated herself to serving on various church boards, including Sunday School, and she also served as Director of the church's daycare. Alongside her husband and her children, she devoted her time to maintaining the church grounds and prayer garden.
Nancy was a woman of remarkable determination, no matter the circumstances. She possessed an extraordinary work ethic and unwavering tenacity in everything she undertook, whether at work or at home.
In 1983, Nancy and her husband, Charley, purchased Northside Liquors. Together, they owned and operated the business for more than 40 years before retiring in 2023. Nancy wholeheartedly cherished the loyal relationships and personal connections she formed while owning and operating the business.
Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was her family's #1 fan. Nancy loved and adored her family deeply and supported them in all their endeavors. She especially cherished her children and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to attend their sporting events, cheering them on at every game. Nana and Poppy were always known for spoiling their grandchildren. Nancy also had a passion for helping others and was well known for her warm fellowship with people.
Nancy was an avid Indiana University and Bobby Knight fan. She had a special love for autumn, delighting in the changing colors of the leaves. She was a talented cook, though later in life Charley always said she would only prepare meals when her children and grandchildren were around. She also enjoyed watching tennis and classic westerns.
Born on September 1, 1946, in Seymour, Nancy was the daughter of William and Geraldine (Boyd) Duncan, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 20, 1967, she married Charles Walter Brock, Jr., and he survives in Brownstown.
Survivors also include two sons: Cliff (Michelle) Brock of Brownstown, and Clint (Stephanie) Brock of Brownstown; one daughter, Christy Whittymore of Brownstown; sister and brother-in-law, Willow and Don Hamilton; sister-in-law, Sally Duncan; brother-in-law, Warren Fisher; five grandchildren: Cole (Addi) Brock, Carley (Tucker) O'Neill, Colton Whittymore, Claire Brock, and Chase Brock; and one great-granddaughter, Current O'Neill.
