David Dixon Obituary
Mike was born in Waycross, Ga., to Nathan Eugene and Addie Elizabeth Rowland Dixon, and was lovingly referred to as Papa. Mike loved his family deeply and his Lord even more. He was a generous and hardworking man who shared his faith with most everyone he met in hopes they would experience the joy of a transformed life that only comes from walking with Christ. Mike was a devoted and founding member of Agape Church in St. Marys.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Eugene Dixon.
Mike is survived and deeply missed by his wife of 63 years, Sandra Dixon; four sons, David Michael Dixon Jr. (Vickie), Richard Dwayne Dixon (Stacey), Alton Dane Dixon (Wendy) and Donald Keith Dixon (Stephanie); 13 grandchildren Judson Boyd, Joshua Dixon, Nicholas Dixon, Dillan Dixon, Ethan Dixon, Deacon Dixon, Skyler Dixon, Sadie Dixon, Dayler Dixon, Donovan Dixon, Madison Sterling, Tori Dixon and Kamryn Dixon; nine great-grandchildren, Beau Dixon, Daisy Dixon, Jon Dixon, Ariella Sterling, CeCe Dixon, Miles Dixon, Mason Dale, Bella Dale and Kynleigh Dale; and sister, Sonja Shetters, who shared many precious memories with him throughout his life.
A Celebration of Life service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, at Agape Church.
Allison Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
