He joined the Hamilton Chapel United Methodist Church, named for his paternal great- and great-grandfathers Hamilton Mundy Sullivan until his passing. He also visited many community churches and religious facilities to include the Navy Chapel, Georgia Avenue Church of God, St. Marys Kingdom Hall, and the historic church home of his ancestors on the Mungin side – Needwood Baptist Church (Glynn County).

Michael A. Meeker

May 22, 2023

My name is Michael A. Meeker from Lima, Ohio.
I served in the United States Army from 1974-1980 and was stationed with then First Sergeant Sullivan at Fort Riley, Kansas. He was getting ready to be transferred to Hawaii in the summer of 1977 and wanted me to re-enlist to go with him to be his company clerk. I at that time said no and only wanted to get out soon. I've regretted that decision always. Top was a fine soldier and a finer man. I'm proud to have served with and known him. R.I. P. Soldier
