Joann Williams Obituary

WILLIAMS - Joann Williams was born Sept. 6, 1961, in White Oak, Ga., to the parents of Joe and Ollie Belle Williams. She was preceded in death by her brother, Eddie Lee Reed.
Joann attended school in Camden County, Ga. She was employed with the Camden County Schools system for many years as a bus driver and Camden County High School as a food service employee. She was also a cook at the Truckstops of America, King & Prince Beach and Golf Resort, The Westin and a housekeeper for The Nalleys. She loved fishing, cooking and spending time with family.
Joann departed this life Wednesday, April 3, 2024. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Joann is survived by her children, Kendra James (Linward Jr.) and Darius Murray; grandchildren, Jaden and Jada James; siblings, Shirley McKinney, Patricia (Sprawley) Washington, Ora Dee Williams, Gloria (Curtis) Jones, Shirley Sheffield, Barbara Williams and Almetia Williams; aunts, Ollie Scarlett, Rita Kight and Carolyn Cohen; uncles, Lawrence (Geraldine) Williams, Lucious (Reatha) Williams, David Williams, Levy Lawrence and Onie Lee Butler; caretaker/niece, Patricia (Timothy) Henry; cousin, Anthony Lawrence; devoted friends, (like a brother and sister), Barry and Rose Johnson; godson, Nicholas Johnson; god-brother, Alonzo "Vaughn" Fields; companion, Martin Jones; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 100 Eighth St. in Woodbine, Ga. There will be no wake. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
Sunset Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
