Alma B. Darnall, 88, Benton, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Parkview Nursing & Rehab Center in Paducah.
Born Wednesday, July 28, 1937, in Searcy, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey Thompson and the late Minnie (Bradney) Thompson.
She was a cook for Ingram Barge Company and a member of Faith Missionary Baptist.
Alma is survived by her twin brother, Alvin Thompson of Hardin; grandchildren, Tamara Dick husband William of Paducah; Kayce Powell husband Daniel of Cadiz, Shane Groves of Bowling Green, Chris Groves of Bowling Green, Chuck Crouch wife Heather of Lakeland, Florida, Russ Farmer of Paducah, Julie Jones of Temple Hill, Maryland, Johanna Hickerson of Benton, Kentucky, Chris Hopkins of Paducah and Aaron Hopkins of Graves County; step daughter, Sherry Hopkins; 14 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, Walter Hopkins; step son, Jimmy Hopkins; daughters, Jacqueline Henson, Deborah West; step daughters, Sheila Hickerson, Cindy Hopkins; brothers, John Thompson, Curtis Thompson, Aubrey Thompson; sisters, Joyce Riley, Beatrice Simpson, Junell Dunn; and grandchild, Patricia Farmer.
A Funeral service was held 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, 2025, at Collier Funeral Home. Nathan Ruggles officiated.
Interment will follow in Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton.
