Jerry Yarbrough Obituary

Jerry Yarbrough, 85, of Benton, formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, at his home.

Jerry was born in Mayfield, on June 4, 1936, to the late Walter and Ladeen Hargrove Yarbrough. Work with Fluor and BE&K took him to many locations around the world including Alaska, Algeria, and Saudi Arabia. Jerry was an outdoorsman who enjoyed horseback riding, target shooting, participating in and organizing turkey shoots, fishing, and ATV riding. Jerry also competed in dart and pool tournaments. He and his wife, Mary, were world travelers. Jerry was a member of the Elks Lodge #2707 in Benton and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3510 in Calvert City.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Pierce Yarbrough of Benton; son, James Allen Yarbrough, wife, Holly of Denver, Colorado; daughter, Jeri Ann Yarbrough of Pompano Beach, Florida; and step-daughter, Amy Hoopingarner Kroehnke, husband, John Richard, of Benton; two grandchildren, Nicholas Pierce Kroehnke, and Catherine Garner Kroehnke.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be no services at this time.

Filbeck and Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr is in charge of arrangements.
