Harriet A. Sutton

Harriet A. Sutton passed away peacefully, on September 26, in her cottage at Homestead Hills Senior Living Community, Winston-Salem, NC. She was born on Jan. 3, 1945, to Mary Hill Hardeman and W. Harry Hardeman in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Harriet and her husband, Coleman Sutton, lived in Canton, GA for 38 years until his death in 2017. They had many friends in and around Canton. They also had a business there, S & S Aviation Co., which is in Jimmy Garland's capable hands today. Harriet was a member of Canton First Methodist Church. She lived in Canton until 9/2021 when she moved to Winston-Salem to be with family.

Harriet spent most of her career with the Law Firm of McCalla Raymer Atlanta. She retired on March 1, 2019.

Harriet continued to make special friends in Winston-Salem, as she had done throughout her life. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Lisa and Nathan L. Atkinson, niece and husband Beth and David Lamphear and children, nephew and wife Nathan B. and Lonnie Atkinson and children. She is also survived by sister-in-law Freda Anders, niece Rhonda Syberg and children, nephew and wife Jeff and Amy Anders and children.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Cherokee County Airport, 1351 Bishop Rd., Ball Ground GA 30107.
