AMANDA LENNICK Obituary

AMANDA LENNICK

Amanda Lennick tragically lost her life in the Oso, Washington mudslide March 22, 2014. She was born in the Tri-Cities, WA January 17, 1983. Amanda graduated from Kennewick High School in 2001, received an AA degree from Spokane Falls Community College in 2004, and a Bachelors in Nursing from WSU-Tri-Cities in 2006. During school she traveled with her fellow students to help at Hurricane Katrina and to Belize on a Medical Missionary Trip. Amanda was a strong, independent woman with a heart of gold.

When Amanda made an offer on the riverfront property in Oso, Washington, she knew she had found her "little piece of Montana," her home. Even before the property closed, she visited the area every weekend, walking the neighborhood and getting to know her future neighbors. The beauty and peace she experienced in the woods and mountains around Oso is exactly what she wanted. It was life-changing.

Amanda was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Tommy & Lillian Thompson, Kalispell and Lakeside, MT; her paternal grandfather, Adam Lennick, Kennewick, WA. She is survived by her parents, Dennis and Jamie Lennick, Kennewick, WA; her brother Matthew Lennick, sister-in-law Tam Trang-Lennick and nephew Elijah Thompson Lennick, Battle Ground, WA; Grandmother Blythe Lennick, Kennewick, WA; Aunts, Janet Lund, Lakeside, MT; Sandra (Bill) Lindstrom, Florence, MT; Mary (BJ) Lupton, Kalispell, MT; Linda (John) Sheehan, Kennewick, WA; Victoria Webber, Spokane, WA and many cousins, great-aunts and uncles, friends and co-workers who will never forget her.

In lieu of a service, we prefer to honor Amanda and carry on her legacy through a scholarship. Members of the Flathead High School Class of 1971, with the family's help, have set up a Nursing Annual Scholarship at Washington State University. Funds donated will support a nursing student at WSU-Tri-Cities who has a record of community service. Tax-deductible donations can be made online at https://secure.wsu.edu/give/default.aspx?fund=2055 or by sending a check to: WSU College of Nursing, PO Box 1495, Spokane, WA 99201. Whether online or by mail, please specify that your gift is for the AMANDA LENNICK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.

I just found out about Amanda tonight. I am so sad to hear this. My heart and prayers go to her family and many friends. I worked with her in Bellevue and got to know her. I was her "cheerleader" in her health goals. She was such a beautiful person both inside and out. I will miss her. Life is so short. I pray that you all know Jesus as your own personal savior. I believe Amanda had and is in Heaven with Him. God bless you all.

To the family, we are so deeply saddened and touched by your loss. No words could ever express our compassion and sympathies for you at this time. Your loss has touched the world and brought a community to its knees, yet we also see them standing strong to rally and hold one another. We think of you daily and pray for your peace nightly. Our family would like to do something special for you, if you could please contact us through Kurt's Cause on Facebook, or me directly through FB, I would greatly appreciate it. Until then, please know that we pray that you find the strength and courage that you so need each and every day. ~Kandy Hayes, and family.

My sympathy goes out to the Family during your time of grief. A life well lived will surely be missed by many. As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends and knowing that God is near when our hearts are broken. -Romans 15:33
