CATHERINE BRAY Obituary

Danekas Funeral Home

Catherine Hutton Bray (97) was born November 9, 1916, in Lakin, Kansas and was the youngest child of Mary Elizabeth Poucher and Austin Hutton. She entered into rest November 23, 2013, at Avalon Care Center where she resided for 13 years.

In 1941, she married Leslie Marvin (John) Bray. She taught Physical Education for several years in Kansas. They moved to Othello in 1953, where she was a 5th grade teacher and then a librarian; retiring after 24 years. Catherine was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, and always helped any community group when asked. Catherine quietly helped others through encouragement, donations, and personal loans.

Catherine is survived by her son, David Lynn 62, who lives in a group home in Spokane. She loved him dearly. Catherine's care was wonderfully taken care of by the staff at Avalon and John Betz, PA-C.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 5, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Othello. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Danekas Funeral Home and Crematory Othello and Ritzville.
