CLOID ELMER WATTS Sept. 27, 1925 - Apr. 21, 2016 Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home Cloid Elmer Watts was born on September 27, 1925 in Jaroso, Colorado to Otis Lorenzo Watts and Myrtle Frazier Watts. Cloid had two older sisters, Flora Wiggins and Estelle Norton. Cloid started school in Texas in 1931, and finished in Washington State in 1944. After high school he worked with his parents on their dairy farm. In 1949, Cloid visited Granger, WA. It was there that he met Patricia Miller, and less than a year later, they were married on August 6, 1950. Cloid and Pat started their married life in Seattle, where he worked as a mechanic. After a year, they returned to Granger where both had family. In no time, they were convinced by friends to move to Vank Island in unincorporated Alaska to work at a logging camp. This proved to be rugged and remote. Cloid loved it, and Pat did not, so they moved to Ketchikan where they owned a cab company. It was in Ketchikan, in 1954, that Douglas Cloid was born. They returned to live on Vank Island, and in 1956, Donald Richard was born in Wrangell, the nearest town with a hospital. By 1958, Cloid and Pat were back living in Seattle, where he was working as an auto electric mechanic. Loren Otis was born that year. Their family temporarily relocated to the Cotati area of California in 1960. During this stay, their youngest child was born, Laura Ruth. Shortly after, they headed back to Seattle where they remained in the Woodinville area until 1963. Prosser was their home from 1963 until 1975. It was at this time that Cloid joined the Operating Engineers Union. Cloid spent most of his weekdays at various remote jobsites, living in a camp trailer, while Pat had her hands full at home. In 1975, Cloid and Pat moved to the Tri-Cities area, which is still their home. Cloid retired from the Operating Engineers in 1983, due to injury. Soon, Pat came up with a plan to head south for the winter, meeting up with various relatives. Many winters were spent traveling to Arizona and Nevada, the last one in 2010. Cloid loved his second career. In 1989, he went to work for Doug and Don on their new farming venture, Watts Brothers Farms. He graded roads to precision on their expanding farmland, retiring in late 2002. Cloid has been lovingly cared for at Canyon Lakes Restorative since January of 2012. We, his family, cannot thank the entire staff enough for all they have done for him. Each of them treated him as their own family member, and we are forever grateful. Cloid is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Patricia, and his children, Doug Watts (Glenda), Don Watts (Lori), Loren Watts (Darla) and Laurie Aden (Dan). He has twelve grandchildren, Billie Jo Blasdel (Steve), Tim Watts (Machelle), Jeff Watts (Shalon), Cameron Watts (April), Lexie Buschbach (Steve), Donnie Watts (Meghan), Bryan Watts (Donna), Derek Watts (Jaimie), Erica Gale (Bobby), Crystal Burdo (Ryan), Mariah Watts, Jonathon Watts; along with twenty great-grandchildren, Mariah Watts Lenover, Zack Klintworth (Aubri), Joe Watts (Marlee), Brett Reinke, Nathan Watts, Mason Watts, Jackson Watts, Riley Burdo, Mykenzie Watts, Grey Watts, Sofia Watts, Morgan Buschbach, Sydney Buschbach, Dylan Gale, Cooper Burdo, Lincoln Watts, Kystran Watts, London Gale, Olivia Watts, Charley Watts.
