I worked with Curt for several years on the Washington State Gambling Commission. He was a fine attorney and a real gentleman. He was also a leader that other commissioners and I relied on. He served a term as chair of the commission while I was a member. He also provided leadership through his decision-making, based on his analytical ability and his years of seevice on the commission. His fairness and integrity were important to the commission's mission of keeping gambling honest.I know this is a great loss for his family and his many, many friends.

Curt was one of those truly good people and an exceptional public servant. The Tri-Cities should be proud of the way he representated them both as prosecutor and as a state legislator. His dedication, and sincere desire to help people drove his every decision. He changed lives for the better and did it with wisdom, charm, humor, kindness and grace. He will always be an inspiration to me, and I know I am a better person for having had the privilege of working for him.
My heartfelt condolences to the family. God bless you all. I know Curt will be greatly missed. He will also be missed by the community and state that he served so well.
