David Horne Obituary

David Allan Horne

February 12, 1954 - November 21, 2024

Kennewick, Washington - David Allan Horne, 70, passed away on November 21, 2024, in Kennewick, Washington.

Born on February 12, 1954. David was the sixth child of Robert and Patricia Horne (Bob and Pat). He grew up surrounded by a large and lively family that shaped his early years and remained central throughout his life. He attended St. Patrick's high school and Pasco Senior high school before continuing his education at Columbia Basin College.

David built a career across several industries, including shipping, textiles, transportation, and warehousing. His work ethic and adaptability allowed him to contribute meaningfully wherever he went.

A man of deep appreciation for the natural world. David found joy in art, nature, hiking, and running. He had a particular love for wildlife, especially eagles, and often saw solace and inspiration outdoors. His connection to the natural world reflected a heart that many described as majestic. Those who knew him remember his good natured spirit he brought into every room.

David held a strong faith rooted in the teachings of the King James Bible. He sought the Lord throughout his life and carried that spiritual grounding with humility and grace. He cherished his role as an uncle and deeply loved his nieces and nephews. His presence in their lives was marked by kindness, laughter, and genuine affection.

David was predeceased by his parents, Bob and Pat Horne; sisters, Pamela, and Joan; and brother John. He is remembered with love by his sisters, Patty, Kathy, Shelly, and Shannon; brothers Steve, Dan and Mike along with many extended family members who will miss him dearly.

A graveside service was held at Rest Haven cemetery in Richland, Washington on Saturday, May 17, 2025.

In honor of David's love for wildlife and the outdoors contributions may be made to the national Audubon Society at https://www.audubonsociety.org/.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
