Donna Janikowski Obituary

Donna Gail Janikowski

December 9, 1948 - January 11, 2025

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho - Donna Gail Janikowski, born December 9, 1948, in Detroit, MI, to William and Margaret Jack and passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, in Coeur d'Alene, ID. Donna was the oldest child of eight siblings and lived a beautiful life, enriched by her roles as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother (Nana), great-grandmother, and professional woman. Donna was raised in Southern California and earned a degree in dental hygiene. In 1980, she relocated with her family to Kennewick, WA, following her husband, Dennis Janikowski, who accepted a position at the Hanford Site. Donna enjoyed a successful career, starting as a dental hygienist and dental office manager and later working as an administrative assistant for various Hanford contractors. In recognition of her dedication and commitment, she was awarded the Women's History Month Award by Kaiser Engineers Hanford in 1993. A lifelong devoted Catholic, Donna showed her love through cooking, often preparing generous meals for her family. She developed a passion for canning, earning multiple ribbons at the Benton-Franklin County Fair. Her contributions to her community and family will be remembered fondly. She enjoyed countless hours crafting with her daughter especially teaching her how to arrange flowers. Donna's greatest pride was her family, both near and far. She is survived by her loving husband, the love of her life of nearly 52 years, Dennis, her daughter, Theresa (Nathan) Canfield; her son, Dennis (Tiffany) Janikowski, Jr.; four grandchildren Stephen, Kathryn, Jessie and Sydney; two great-grandchildren Victor and Olivia; sister Sharon; and two brothers, Kevin and Billy Jack. Donna was preceded in her death by her loving parents William and Margaret Jack, brothers, Gregory and Gary Jack, and sisters Diane Ellis and Denise Taylor. The family requests that donations be made in Donna's memory to a charity of their choice. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those who knew her.
