EULALIO RODRIGUEZ Obituary
Prosser Funeral Home
Eulalio Rodriguez passed away peacefully on August 27, 2013 surrounded by his family and friends, after a long courageous battle with cancer, at his home in Prosser.
Our Dad was born on February 12th, 1931 in Laredo, Texas to Alnofo and Ramona Rodriguez. In 1953 he married Maria Elena Cordova in Laredo, Texas. From 1955 to 1962, our parents traveled from Laredo to the Yakima Valley to work until finally settling in Prosser where they raised their family of seven.
He worked for the late Charles Smasne of Grandview, then worked for the Prosser School District as a custodian. He worked there for over 40 years making many friends along the way until he retired.
Our Dad led a full and active life. He loved to play bingo, go to casinos and go to yard sales or having one. After our Mom passed away in 2004, we continued to meet at our Dads on Sunday to have menudo, mole with rice and beans, barbacoa or just BBQ. Dad was happiest when surrounded with family and friends. Dad attended the Catholic Church in Prosser and Grandview and also The Kingdom Hall in Prosser.
He is survived by his children, Joe Rodriguez and wife, Lupe of Prosser, Ruben Rodriguez of Benton City, Juan Rodriguez of Prosser, Cynthia Rodriguez of Sunnyside, Carlos Rodriguez of Grandview, Ana Lua of Grandview, Noe Rodriguez of Kennewick and numerous grandkids and great-grandkids. He is also survived by three brothers from Laredo, Texas. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of over fifty years, Maria Elena, his parents, two sisters and a son, Eulalio Rodriguez II.
Viewing will be held at Prosser Funeral Home on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Viewing on Friday will be from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 30 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prosser. Concluding services and burial will follow at the Prosser Cemetery.
