Richland, Washington - Lynn Kowske, 61, was born October 9, 1959 in Richland WA to Stanley Kowske and Betty Kowske (Vance). She passed away on February 19, 2021 at Kadlec Hospital from complications of lung disease.
When Lynn was a baby the family moved to Europe as Stan was in the Army and stationed there. Lynn lived in France and Germany until she was 8. She had fond memories of her childhood there. The family moved back to Richland in 1968 and her parents divorced shortly after. Lynn was an only child and very close to her mom. They did everything together and would do anything for each other. Betty was her rock and they were inseparable until Betty's passing in 2001.
Lynn graduated from Columbia High School in 1978. She worked at Lamb Weston in Richland as a food inspector for 28 years and retired early due to health problems. She was married for a short time and helped raise twin girls, Sarah and Kirsten.
Lynn enjoyed traveling, especially to the Washington and Oregon coast to camp and fish. She enjoyed collecting and antiquing and co-owned a doll shop in the Uptown with her mom for a couple years. She loved animals and had many beloved cats and dogs throughout her life. They were all her furry four legged 'kids'. Lynn was witty, smart, and crafty. She liked to sew and crochet and created many beautiful doilies. She was a good bowler and bowled on different teams. She also belonged to the Kosmos social group at the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, her aunt Willie (Richland), and her uncle JW Vance (Texas).
She is survived by an uncle Ralph (Richland), an aunt Melba (JW) of Texas; cousins Kristi and Kevin (Patti) of Richland; cousins Tommy, Jeffrey, Susan, Mikey, Gary, Alan and Ricky of Texas; niece Samantha of California; nephews Kevin Michael and Patrick of Richland; and many nieces and nephews in Texas; and good friends Carrie and Dan.
A Celebration of Life may be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Benton Franklin Humane Society.
