Frederick Jamison Obituary

Frederick Jamison

January 24, 1944 - September 16, 2023

Richland, Washington - Frederick (Fred) Caron Jamison was born January 24, 1944 and went home to Jesus on September 16, 2023 while on a morning walk with his granddaughter.

Fred's zest for life and love for the outdoors lasted a lifetime. He had many adventures on both the West Coast and the East Coast. Although Fred spent most of his life in his homeland of Washington State, he also ventured to North Carolina for many years. He rode bikes, participated in many triathlons, and ran for decades. When he couldn't hit the road any longer, he hit the trails and hiked. Fred loved to share these activities with his loved ones.

And oh how Fred loved! Fred loved his son Matthew deeply! He sought Matt out to spend time with him, he spoke so proudly of him, and faithfully prayed over Matt. Oh, how Fred loved his grandchildren by marriage: Liam, Faye, Judson, Joley-Raye, Francis, and baby Cooper! There was no greater Pop-Pop than Fred Jamison.

Oh how Fred loved his wife, Cathy Jamison! Cathy and Fred shared many adventures together. They moved coast-to-coast several times going between Georgia, North Carolina, and coming back to Washington State. Cathy and Fred shared the gift of hospitality and opened their home for many. Together they doubled their joy and divided their pain caring for each other.

As Fred grew older, he spent time in God's Word daily, served others in need, and invested time in his family and friends. He volunteered faithfully at REX Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina; in assisted living in Richland, Washington; and at this church.

Fred was survived by his wife Cathy Jamison; son Matt Jamison (spouse Rebecca, children Liam and Faye); stepdaughter Jessica Fry (spouse Justin, children Judson and Joley-Raye); stepson Justin Kious (spouse Mallory, son Cooper); and stepdaughter Tara Miller (spouse Andrew, son Francis).

In addition to his family, Fred left a legacy of a joy for life and love of Jesus!

We will celebrate Fred's life and homecoming on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 1pm. Join us in remembering Fred at C3 (150 Gage Blvd Richland, WA 99352).

Fred had I had any idea your last day on earth was that Saturday morning in South Carolina there's so much I would have said to you in person. You were the very best Pop-Pop to my children and a very kind stepdad to me. We miss you terribly. There will be a Pop-Pop size hole in all of our lives on this side of heaven.

Have only known Fred about 3 years. Was a very kind and personable man. Was evident of his love and faithfulness to the Lord, and his service and also love for his wife Cathy and those around him. He will be missed by all. Our condolences and prayers go out to the family, during this time of shock, grief and loss. Be comforted in the fact that he is now safe in his Saviors arms.
