GEORGE M. GOULET

Age 77 from Pasco WA

Born: October 02, 1936 to Edward and Beula Goulet.

Died: Tuesday December 3, 2013 of Congestive Heart Failure at Kadlec Medical Center.

George was a lifelong resident of Pasco and a proud PHS Bulldog. After high school graduation George joined the AirForce and became a crew chief on a bomber in the Strategic Air Command.

While stationed in Georgia, George met and married Margaret Walters and they had son Paul and a daughter. After discharge from the service George returned to Pasco and began work in the family electrical business, Pasco Electric. The remainder of his working life George was a Journeyman Electrician and member of local Union 112.

In 1975 George got reacquainted with high school sweetheart Regenia Pool, they married on Valentine's Day 1976.

George was a charter member of the Tri-Cities Model RR Club. He went from small layouts to a large Garden RR. He filled his backyard with a mountain, stream and pond and laid 950 ft. of hand spiked rail. He turned a plain flat yard into a showcase, visited by school children, Garden Tours and RR Clubs from all over. His Flower Mountain RR was featured on PBS "Just a Minute" segment, and the Tri- Hity Herald as "Pasco's Other Rail Yard." Shortly after retirement George was asked for his help by friend and the General Contractor on the Tri-City Hospice House. George eagerly took on the challenge of securing free labor and building material and oversaw major portions of that project and was nationally recognized for his volunteer effort. Then he went back to work on his railroad.

George and Regenia traveled all over the United States and Canada in one of several RV's. They started as "pine needle path" campers and kept getting bigger until the grandkids said "you can't really call this camping."

In the last few years George's favorite pastime was morning coffee with the deli girls at Yokes in Pasco. They treated him very special.

George was much loved by his wife of 37 years, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all but one of his dogs.

George is survived by wife Regenia, son Paul (Tanya), a daughter, stepdaughter Diane (Boyd) Kostoff, grandchildren Jenniffer, Amanda, Christi, James (Goulet), Lacey Fielding, Lance Kostoff and five great-grandchildren. Brothers Ed (Janet) Goulet, Don Goulet and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Memorial service for George will be Tuesday Dec 10 at 1:00pm at the Pasco Christian Church, 1524 W Marie St., Pasco, WA.

In lieu of flowers a donation in George's name may be made to the Franklin Co Historical Society or the Tri-Cities Hospice House.
