JAMES STRINGER Obituary


Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home

James Lewis Stringer, age 79, passed away on November 5, with his family by his side in Kennewick, WA. Jim was born on Jan 12, 1932, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Clarence Pleas and Jimmy Alphonsine Stringer.

Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, track, boxing, and tennis. He graduated from the Classen High School in Oklahoma City, and then honorably served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Jim completed a BA degree at the University of Oklahoma in 1963.

His career includes working for NASA, in Houston, TX, which earned him numerous awards involving the first man on the moon project.

In 1976, he was appointed as a contracting officer for the USA with the Department of Energy in Richland, WA.

His wife, Synneva, preceded Jim in death in 1998, only four years after they retired to Arizona. Jim has since relocated to Kennewick, WA for the last 11 years. His brother, Pleas Stringer, and children Kristina, Paul, and Gary Stringer survive him. He is remembered as a kind, strong, and dedicated family man to all.

A service of remembrance will be held at the Manor at Canyon Lakes on Dec 3rd at 4:30 p.m., address 2802 W 35th, Kennewick, WA.
