Pasco, Washington - Jose Guadalupe Chapa, 31, died on April 17, 2025, leaving a huge and permanent hole in the hearts of his family and friends. Jose was good-natured, loyal, and a source of endless infectious laughter for those lucky enough to know and love him. He was authentic and unforgettable.

Jose was born May 31, 1993 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Pasco Washington. He was proud of Pasco, and a proud graduate of Tri Cities Prep High School. He spent his post-graduate years working in the hospitality industry, often at restaurants. He liked to be around food.

Jose loved with all of his heart and at all costs. He was the truest definition of a friend and brother; selfless, a good listener, a confidant, sharing the little or last of what he had with others. He had no concern for possessions, freeing him to be fully present for others at any moment on any occasion. He enjoyed being with loved ones more than anything else and rewarded those around him with his side-splitting sense of humor that inevitably had everyone laughing to the point of tears. In this moment of despair, when the tears come first, memories of Jose usually end with a smile or laughter in spite of our sorrow.

Jose died unexpectedly, tragically, at a young age, and way too soon. But he left a lasting gift to all of us: his true concern for others and an unforgettable, larger than life, loving and profound sense of humor, that he shared freely and frequently. Jose made life more pleasant for others, often sacrificing his comfort to make someone else comfortable. His friends and family relied on his smile, his wise, witty remarks, and contagious laughter to brighten their lives. Jose Chapa was one of a kind. He left an indelible mark on this world. We will forever miss and remember the warmth he brought to our lives.
