My favorite memory of Maria is the day she ran into me at the mall after not seeing each other for a year, and ran jumping into my arms!

Something I will always remember about Maria is how joyful and happy she was, there was never a time when she was truly upset or sad around me. It was always jokes and laughter. If I had a bad day Chita would always make it better. She was a breath of fresh air and lit up the room anywhere she would go. We had the type of friendship where we could look at each other and start hysterically, laughing on the ground for no reason at all. I looked up to her because she was the better version of myself. She carried herself well and didn´t let little things get to her. She was truly a gift and I enjoyed every moment with her

My first memory of Maria was in 2nd grade, we were waiting in line to wash our hands as a kid brought treats for a birthday and I was standing in front of her and I remember she leaned over towards me and got really close up to where I could feel her hovering over my shoulder. I turned around kinda confused and she goes "your hair smells like coconuts" and is just sniffing my hair. I remember we look at each other and start laughing uncontrollably because everyone else is quite just washing hands. It was a funny moment because at the time we didn´t know each other well enough so in a way it was weird. It was just random and funny and ever since we became best friends. I remember she was very extroverted and I was always introverted. Our friendship was very random but we were always the best duo growing up. We just went together so well.
