July 26, 1964 - November 29, 2021
Hillsboro, Oregon - Mary Ellen Kathryn Russert, 57, a resident of Hillsboro, OR passed away surrounded by her family on Monday November 29, 2021 at her home.
Mary Ellen was born on July 26, 1964 in Riverside, California. She was raised in California until age 11 when she moved to Kennewick, Washington. She graduated from Kamiakin High School with the class of 1982.
After high school Mary Ellen moved to Woodland, California where she lived until 1989. In 1986, she married Wert Russert Jr. Together they had two children, Wert III and Alyssa. After Wert joined the US Air Force, they were fortunate enough to live in Germany for two years. When they returned state side, there were stationed in South Dakota, Mississippi, and Colorado before moving to Aloha, Oregon. They were divorced in 2000.
Mary Ellen earned her Bachelor's degree from Portland State University in 2012. She worked as a Supply Chain Manager in the High Tech Industry for over 26 years.
Mary Ellen loved listening to music, going to concerts and dancing. She enjoyed remodeling projects, traveling, baking and cycling. Hosting her family and being "Lola" to her grandson were among her favorite ways to spend her time. She was the matriarch of the family. Mary Ellen also loved her dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Helen Maxwell.
She is survived by her two children, Wert(Candice) Russert III of Tigard, Alyssa (Tim) Vandehey of Forest Grove, five siblings; Tom (Jill) Maxwell of Woodburn, Chad Belknap of Bend, Julie Maxwell of Tri-Cities, Sally Maxwell of Tri-Cities, Veronika Morris of Nevada, biological parents; John Wilkes of California, Jeanne Belknap of California, grandson; Vance, many nieces and nephews and Deion the dog.
