Peter James Mikkelsen, age 67, of Mabton, WA, passed away November 29, 2006, at his home.

He was born October 25, 1939, to James Peter and Alice Elizabeth (Mac Farland) Mikkelsen in New York City, New York. He received his education in Los Angeles, CA.

Following his education, Pete played baseball in the Minor Leagues while also serving in the Marine Corps for 2 years.

Pete's Major League career started in 1964 with the Yankees where he pitched in the 1964 World Series. In 1973, he finished his career with the Dodgers and went on to farm in Prosser.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing.

Pete will be remembered by all for his generosity, kindness and willingness to help anyone.

He is survived by his mother, Alice Mikkelsen of Prosser, WA, his companion of 7 years, Barbara Breeze of Mabton, WA, and her son, James Breeze and wife, Jill and their family.

Numerous friends that Pete considered family also survive him.

Pete is preceded in death by his father, James P. Mikkelsen.

At Pete's request there will be no formal funeral service.

Those wishing to honor his memory may contribute to the American Cancer Society.
