Rebekah Coyne Obituary

Rebekah Zoe Coyne

September 28, 1980 - September 9, 2025

Palatine, Illinois - It is with unbearably deep grief that the family of our beloved daughter, sister, auntie, niece, cousin, and friend, inform you that Rebekah Zoe Coyne passed away on September 9, 2025, in a house fire. There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone, their light remains. That is our Becky's light and her gift to the world.

Our Becky was born Rebekah Zoe Coyne on 9/28/80 in Richland, Washington and passed away in Wood Dale, Illinois. She is survived by her mother, Melissa Z. Souza; father, Thomas H. Coyne; sisters, Jamie Z. Souza & Mary Z. Coyne; brother, Thomas J. Coyne and Kayla R. Coyne. Becky adored her five nieces and one nephew; Jada, Aurora, Mya, Grace, Ava, and Jett. Becky's family was the greatest joy of her life, and there are no words her family can say, that can express the profound pain and suffering we all feel, except to say that Becky is Now Our Beloved Angel.

Becky graduated from college with a Bachelors in Legal Studies and went on to become a Para Legal with a wonderful company who appreciated her incredible intellectual and analytical skills. Becky was happy there. Becky had a passion for serving people with special abilities, senior citizens, and others who needed an advocate. No one was a better advocate than our Becky!

Becky was a grand adventurer! She loved going on day trips and hiking numerous Pacific Northwest natural sites. Mount Rainier was one of her favorite places to camp and hike. You never knew if Becky was packing for a couple of days or a few weeks; she always had to have enough of everything, just in case!

Becky was the most wonderful cook and baker. Somewhere, she found a 100-year-old plus sourdough starter that she gently brought back to purity. She would bake the most delicious breads and meals from it. Becky could cook and bake anything delicious, especially for a holiday. Valentines Day, Halloween, and Christmas were her absolute favorite holidays where she would go out of her way to treat her loved ones.

Becky loved to read for hours upon hours. From fiction to non-fiction, she relished all grand adventures, history, psychology, science, astronomy, crime, period pieces, sublime love stories, and mystical fantasies. Her spirit animals are an OWL, PANDA, and LADYBUG. So, if one happens across your path, you never know, it might be Becky saying,

"Hello"

Becky was an amazing and precious human being. She was one of the most intelligent, empathetic, benevolent, tender-hearted, compassionate, loving, nurturing, generous, giving woman you could ever meet. She was a social justice warrior; a furious advocate for those without a voice. Becky would not hesitate to defend anyone who was being bullied or hurt in any way. Becky was like this her entire life, even as a child. She will forever be remembered as the righteous soul and Angel she is.

The love of Becky's life was Brandon Dalhberg of Palatine, Illinois. They lived together for 5 years having known each other for 7 years prior to that. Becky and Brandon were the most unique, quirky, and perfect of couples. They matched each other perfectly and loved each other deeply. Their brilliant minds and hilarious comedy kept everyone from a dull moment. Tragically, Brandon passed only one month prior to Becky.

We love and honor all that you are Becky. You will be forever missed, forever loved and forever a part of us!

"When all that's left of me is Love"
