RICHARD LODERHOSE Obituary


Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home

Richard G. Loderhose, beloved husband, dad, grandpa and friend, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on January 6, 2013. Richard was born April 15, 1930, in Yakima to George Loderhose and Lillian Loderhose.

Richard graduated from Toppenish High School in May 1949. One month later, he married Alice Jean Johnson, the love of his life. Both attended WSU one year and from there Richard and Alice moved to Marysville to accept a machinist job. He then relocated his family to Kennewick where he began working at Foster Sheet Metal in 1952 as an apprentice.

Four children were born from this loving union, Richard (Rick), Michael, Karen and Gary. Richard was an ardent supporter of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and School where he enrolled his children for a quality Christian education. He served in many capacities in both the church and the school.

Richard was an avid outdoor sportsman enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and metal detecting for which he won numerous awards and medals. Richard loved to share his knowledge of woodworking with others.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Michael. Richard is survived by Alice, his wife of 63 years, of Kennewick; Son, Rick (Jann), St. Augustine, Florida; daughter Karen, Kennewick; son Gary (Karen), Cape Coral, Florida; granddaughters Elyse, Riverview, Florida; Kimberly, St. Augustine, Florida; Emily, East Asia; grandsons Ben (Rachel), Chattanooga, Tennessee; Will, Lookout Mountain, Georgia; sister Shirley (Dennis) Evens, Toppenish.

Memorial Service will be Saturday, January 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2505 W. 27th Avenue, Kennewick.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Richard's name can be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran School or Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
