RICHARD WILLIAM MACHART

Richard William Machart died Monday September 13, 2004 at his home The Royal Columbian Retirement Inn in Kennewick after a short illness. Richard was born to William and Anna Machart in Pine City, Minnesota on April 3, 1919.
He married Lucille Valvoda on July 20, 1938, in Minnesota and had his own dairy farm until moving to Kennewick in 1951.
Richard started Cascade Janitorial Company and worked until 1982 passing it on to his son Richard.
Richard loved to travel with his wife and went on senior trips to Mexico, Alaska and Canada. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his wife and family.
He was an usher and member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church since 1951. A member of the Knights of Columbus, The Optimist Club, The Kennewick Senior Center RSVP and could be seen at the monthly pancake feed rolling the silverware with his friend Otto. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica for the nursing homes with companion Louise.
Richard leaves behind his wife of 67 years, Lucille of Kennewick; son, Richard J. Machart and his wife, Linda of Kennewick; daughter, Mary Lou, who lives at the sisters of the poor in St. Paul, Minnesota; two grandsons, Bryan Machart, of Kennewick and Aaron Machart and wife, Kelly of Kennewick.
Richard has two sisters, Eleanor Widstrom and Wilma Deis of Fresno, California; half sisters, Marcella Piha of Fresno, California and Elaine Pulkraback of St. Paul, Minnesota; a half brother, Lenny Piha of Pine City, Minnesota, and the three great-grandchildren he enjoyed watching growing up Sadie Machart, Tylor Machart and Mason Machart.
There will be visitation for Richard on Thursday, Sept. 16, from 1 until 5 p.m. at Mueller's Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union, Kennewick.
Following the visitation there will be a Rosary at 6 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 520 S. Garfield (new church). The Mass of Christian Burial will also be at St. Joseph's Church on Friday, Sept. 17, at 10 a.m.
