SHEILA BENNETT Obituary

Einan's at Sunset

Sheila Q. Bennett, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away from complications after a long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecelia Quinn (mother), Vivien Quinn (father), and John Quinn (brother).

Sheila was born February 27, 1943 in Pittsburg, CA. She grew up in Butte, MT. She attended Immaculate Conception grade school and Girls Central High School. Throughout high school, Sheila loved to sing with her a cappella group, the Coquettes. They even recorded a record and promoted their group to Dennis Day.

Sheila attended Montana State University 1961-1963. She married David W. Bennett in 1964, and in 1966 they moved to Richland where they raised their family. Sheila was very proud of her three children, Pam, David, and John. She dedicated her time to raising them, and then began her career working at JC Penney.

After graduating from Central Washington University, Sheila began working for Battelle as technical editor. Sheila enjoyed traveling the world. She traveled to Russia, Nepal, Tibet, Peru, Iceland, Ireland, Western Europe, and Cabo to name a few.

Sheila has always enjoyed her dogs, most recently Phoebe and Finnegan. She trained Phoebe to become a therapy dog through Delta Society. She was also a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, book clubs, bunko, and enjoyed attending local theatre and music performances.

Sheila loved her family. She very much enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow and participating in their lives. She watched many music concerts, soccer games, swim meets, and dance recitals. On many occasions, she took her family to her favorite spot, Lincoln City, where many memories were made. In 2007, Sheila gathered her entire family for a weeklong adventure in Maui, Hawaii. We survived our trip to Hana, went whale watching, enjoyed a luau, and were able to just enjoy being together.

Sheila had an amazing group of friends from Tri-Cities and Butte. We have greatly enjoyed their stories, support, and love. Sheila valued their deep, understanding friendships.

Sheila is survived by her loving family: Mary Kay Driscoll (sister), and husband Jim. Pamela Bennett Wilson (daughter) and husband Joe; David J. Bennett (son) and wife Lara; John C. Bennett (son) and wife Catherine; and the pride of her life, her grandchildren: Stephanie and Kristin Wilson; Koreen and Dominik "Niko" Bennett; Julianne, Christina, and Jennifer Bennett.

Sheila's passing leaves a large, sudden hole in all of our lives. She will be deeply missed, but with us always. She will be with us in the color green, cocker spaniels, and Irish lore. A memorial celebrating Sheila's life will be held at Einan's Funeral Home at 10am on Friday, September 26th.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Sheila's name to Breast Cancer charity of your choice.

Dear Pam and Family, I am so sorry to read of the passing of your mom. I remember her so fondly from when we were kids running around the neighborhood. And then as an adult seeing her when she worked at JC Penny's. Her spirit was always so warm and friendly. Sending you all love during this difficult time. Kari Ragan

Oh, how sad I am; I lost one of my oldest and dearest friends this week. I thank God that we were blessed with two visits from her this summer; we are all better people for having known and shared our music with Sheila. I am so sad that I cannot be with you to celebrate her life on Friday but she knows that Sharon and I are singing with her and the rest of the Coquettes too. Those were gifted years that changed us in many ways. Sheila you are missed and will always be in our hearts. My prayers are with all of you. Kitty and David Brilliant - Butte

Dear Pam, Dave, John and families; We were terribly sorry to read of the death of your mother. We have fond memories of the years we spent neighbors to the Bennett's. May God be with each of you and your families as you try to adjust to life without your mother in your presence. Although she is gone, she will not be forgotten.
