George Ostrander Obituary

George Ostrander, 83, of Haskell, N.J., died on Monday January 26, 2009. Born in Boyds Mills, Pa., he graduated from Damascus High School. He was a WWII Army Veteran, a member of VFW James W. McCartney Post 6765 and a parishioner at St. Francis RC Church, Haskell, N.J. He lived most of his life in Haskell where he was owner of Garden State Home Improvement in Haskell for 59 years, retiring in 2006. He was the son of Lawrence and Elizabeth Ostrander of Boyds Mills, Pa.
He left behind his beloved wife Elizabeth (Merrick) Ostrander. Loving father to George R. and Monique, Barry and Dale of Haskell, two daughters Elizabeth and Luke Pezzella of Alabama and Nancy and Doug Greenfield of Reading, Pa. He has two brothers Walter and Jean Ostrander of Beach Lake, Pa. and Larry and Ruth of Gillett, Pa. He was predeceased by a sister Grace, wife of Jack Tallman of Carley Brook and a brother Elwin of Honesdale, Pa. Granfather of eight. Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was from the D'Agostino Funeral Home, Haskell, N.J. Entombment, Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa, N.J.
