Samuel Cox Obituary

Samuel S. Cox, 75, of Honesdale, died on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Born on May 10, 1941 in Lake Ariel, he was the son of the late Raymond and Elsie Ammerman Cox.

Sam began his career as a lumberjack. He later became a trucker which became his passion. Before taking ill, Sam also cooked at Cordaro's Restaurant in Honesdale and Kundla's in Hamlin.

Surviving are his sons Frank S. Cox and wife Linda and David L Cox all of Live Oak, FL, Samuel A. Cox and wife Kathy of Honesdale, TJ Cox of GA and Daniel O'Neil of FL; his daughters Betty Cox of TN and Kelly Hult of NY; a brother Raymond Cox and wife Debbie of PA; 25 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Private cremation services are being arranged by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.

When I worked at Allied In-Home Services, I would talk to Sam on the phone frequently. He always made me laugh and I would tell him to behave himself. He would say, " Well that's no fun!" and then he would laugh. Rest in peace Sam...And try to behave yourself in Heaven.
