BRAD MANTOOTH Obituary

BRAD MANTOOTH David Bradley Mantooth (Brad), passed away at the Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the age of 74, after a courageous and near life-long battle with epilepsy. He was born on April 21, 1951, in Nashville, Kansas, the oldest child of David (Dean) and Marie Ann (Nichols) Mantooth. He grew up in Cunningham, Kansas, where he loved sports, playing Pee Wee and Little League Baseball, and Slo-Pitch softball. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He graduated from Cunningham High School with the class of 1969. He then attended Pratt Community College and graduated from Kansas Newman University, with a degree in history. While at Kansas Newman he was a manager for the Men's Basketball Team. After his college graduation he lived and worked in Pratt and Hutchinson. He was a member of the Training and Education Center (Tech), receiving the Client of the Year Award in 1993. After his retirement he moved to Medicine Lodge, Kansas, where he lived until his passing. He loved following and watching sports teams, especially the KU Jayhawks, KC Royals, and KC Chiefs. A devout Catholic, he was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medicine Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Marie Ann Mantooth; and his grandparents, Judd and Alma (Geron) Nichols, and Frank and Sylvia (Straight) Mantooth. He is survived by his brother, Brooks Mantooth, Hutchinson; and his sisters, Cindy Anthony (Kent), Sterling, and Cheri Dohrmann (Lowell), Medicine Lodge; 7 nieces and nephews and their spouses; and 21 great-nieces and nephews. Visitation with family present will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medicine Lodge, on Wednesday, August 27, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Parish Rosary at 10:30 a.m., and the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., with Father Emmanuel Kosikumah officiating. Burial will at 2:00 p.m. at the Maud Cemetery in Cunningham. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Cunningham Recreation Commission or Holy Rosary Catholic Church, in care of Livingston Funeral Home, 1830 N. Main, Kingman, KS 67068.
