I dearly loved Father Dominic Ingemie, he was like a father to me, I worked for him when he was the Superintendent for Catholic School for the Dioceses and later while a Priest for St. James in Albany NY. He married my husband and I and baptized our son, he also helped me with tuition for my oldest son. When we purchased our new build home, he blessed our home. He was a big bear full of love and I love ve him dearly, 23 years ago we moved to Florida and it was the last time I saw him. He was a great human being and a great laughter. Rest in Peace my lovely Father Ingemie. Always in our heart !

Father Ingemie was my principal at CCHS. I was a dichotomy of mischief and student council. When I would skip classes "to do bulletin boards" (which I actually stayed after school to do and he knew it) he would give me a complicated look of reproach and "I get it" all at the same time. He understood that my mischief side kept me from classes I was doing fine in anyway and that I stayed after school many days to put in the work. He was one of the few in my life that "got this" about me. Years later when I was a titch late arriving for the first communion of my two daughters at St. Peter´s in our adopted hometown of Saratoga Springs he gave me that same head tilted down quiet smile - `just get your girls in line Jennifer and let this event go on´.... From the 1980´s to the 2000´s he made me feel so welcome with all my flaws. Thank you Father Ingemie. May God Bless You.
May he find peace and joy in Heaven.

What would I like to say about Fr. Ingemie, is the guest book question. The answer would fill a book. He principal for part of my time as a CCHS student. A very good, kind, caring, spiritual man.

Fr. Dominic saved my life when he hired me to teach English at CCHS. The 9 years I spent there were the best of my working life. And they changed the course of my future. I have a special memory of him co-celebrating my mother's funeral Mass with my homeroom students in attendance. Others have left messages saying he was "one of the good guys." That is so true.

To Vera, Joe and the Ingemie,
My sincere sympathy to all. Fr. Dominic was one of the good guys. I first met him at CCHS as a student when he joined the faculty. He was known as a teacher who cared about the kids and was a great role model.
Our paths crossed through the years in many places: at my brother's parish, at some of our family baptisms, at the Pastoral Center when I worked next door, at St. Peter's when I visited friends there and whenever I saw him in Albany, in town or in church. He always welcomed people with open arms and a big smile! He always showed up for family, friends and the people he served, even when it was hard. He was loved by many. He will be missed.

Father Ingemie was our pastor at St. Peter's for nearly 20 years.
He was a wonderful servant of the Lord, a priestly priest, a good friend.
May he rest in the peace he so rightly deserves.
My sympathy to his family he spoke of so often.

He was the best priest I knew in my years as a child and adolescent at St. Patrick's in Catskill and a fourth generation member (interfaith) of the parish. He was kind, reachable, and when he spoke with you definitely spoke from his heart, never putting us kids down. May he rest in peace with his loved ones and may his memory be for a true blessing.

It was an honor to work side by side with Fr. Ingemie. Father hired me to teach at catholic central where i later became an administrator as well. I have known Fr. Ingemie as a priest, and educator, a friend, and more. He was a stellar person in so many ways. I knew his dad when I was at VI and he used to tell me how proud he was of his son. I taught his sister Nina at VI and she was special to him. Fr Ingemie was a person you could count on. He had a terrific sense of humor and warmth about him. Indeed he was a very special person, priest, son, brother, friend and so much more. He truly taught us to Teach as Jesus Did. He will be missed and I wish his family, colleagues, and friends peace.

I knew Father Ingemie when he was at St. Francis deSales in Troy and at CCHS. He arrived in summer of 1968 and with some of his friends established a “guitar “ mass choir of former altar boys and choir girls. As a ninth grader I enjoyed the challenge of contemporary church music. He also was my ninth grade religion teacher. He made theology interesting and I learned a lot. He was a wonderful addition to our parish and CCHS community. His life is an example of a dedicated priest. My prayers for his family during this difficult time. He will rest in peace.

We have all been blessed, in our lifetimes by knowing and loving my cousin father Dominic. His love, his patience, his smile God has blessed us, and i can also say that father Dominic was blessed twice by God to be within his earthly, family. They have loved him, supported him through his travels both Earthly and spiritual. Hi myself have always thought “ what would Dominic think of me and what I’ve done in some decisions I make”. I’ve told my granddaughter when she puts her head on the pillow at night to think about all the people who love her I know ask that everyone who knew Dominic to put their heads on the pillow at night and ask, what would Dominic think? if we do this his love, and his spirit will always be with us.
We Love you Dominic.

I had the privilege of Father Ingemie's guidance at St. Francis deSales, CCHS, and St. Peter's. He added so much light to this world as he shared God's love by example in a life well-lived. Heaven has surely gained an angel! Thank you for blessing my life Father Ingemie. Rest in peace.
