Erica Elder Obituary

Erica Elder, 51, of Ford City, Pennsylvania entered into heavenly rest on Thursday, November 11, 2021, after a year-long journey with cancer.Erica was a 1988 graduate of Ford City High School. She later attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Oakland University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Erica enjoyed helping others in her role as a social worker in the Detroit area and later in helping friends.Erica spent time living in Pennsylvania where she was always thankful to see and hear from high school and college friends. Erica’s love of Peanuts characters lasted with her until her passing. She was very appreciative of so many who sent cards and Peanuts gifts for her recent 51st birthday. Erica is survived by her parents Skip (Harold) and Dee (Diane) Elder of Troy, Michigan. She is also survived by her brother Michael and his wife Wendy Elder of Jacksonville, NC as well as her sister Laura and her husband Chappie (James) Chapman of Westland, MI. Erica will be fondly remembered by nieces and nephews Sydney Elder, and Rachel, Addison, Hannah, Caleb, Amira, and Jonah Chapman.Erica’s wish was always to help others find a better life. In her memory her family asks that any gifts be sent to the Armstrong County Community Foundation (www.servingtheheart.org) 220 S. Jefferson Street Suite B.
