Eugene Cardamone

Eugene S. Cardamone AVERILL PARK - Eugene S. Cardamone, 69, of Chaundray Lane died Thursday, February 16, 2017, at his residence after a 13 year battle with Muscular Dystrophy. Born in West Point, he was son of the late Santis Cardamone and Eva Marie Cola Cardamone and husband for almost 48 years of Karen L. Dempewolff Cardamone. He was raised in West Point, lived in Westmere and resided in Averill Park since 1984 and was a graduate of the State University of New York at Albany where he earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science. Mr. Cardamone was a Professor of Accounting at Hudson Valley Community College for 30 years. He was a member of the Institute of Management Accountants. He enjoyed photography, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and swimming. Survivors in addition to his wife include four sisters, Paula Kady, Exeter, NH, Diane Cardamone, Shelton, CT, Marcia (John) Barber, Shelton, CT and Juli Morgan, Canton, NC; two sisters-in-law, Helen Dempewolff, Garden City, NY and Lenore (Ralph) Naranjo, Annapolis, MD and several loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150, West Sand Lake on Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 3-6 PM. Funeral service will be held Monday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home and at 11:00 AM at St. Henry’s Church Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The family would like to thank Gene’s home health aides Lisa, Lori and Cherie for their loving care, the Sand Lake Ambulance for all their assistance, and Theresa Schmidt for her visits that Gene truly enjoyed.
