Joseph J. DeSapio

DeSAPIO, JOSEPH TROY - Joseph J. DeSapio, 78 of Sixth Avenue, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Nicholas A. DeSapio and Anna Patti DeSapio. Raised and educated in Troy he was a graduate of Troy High School. Joseph spent most of his life as a clothing designer and artist. He enjoyed working and displaying his art and clothing at Visual Creations Shop in downtown Troy. He worked for the former Nirenberg & Sons and Al's Fabric in Troy. He had an extreme talent and even Oscar DeLaRenta took interest in Joseph's unique clothing designs. Joseph was a talented artist and loved to duplicate the "old master's" paintings including Renoir, Vermeer and Leonardo Da vinci. Joseph was a caring person with a heart of gold. He also loved to cook and made a lemon meringue pie and pizza that was out of this world. He will be greatly missed by his good friends Bridgette and Richard Missenis. Survivors include, three sisters Emily Thomas, Ann Marie Mazur both of Troy, Joan Bury of Clifton Park, a brother Anthony DeSapio of Troy and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers William and Nicholas DeSapio. A graveside service will be held Friday March 23, 2012 at Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
