Marjorie Bouchard Obituary

BOUCHARD, MARJORIE WYNANTSKILL - Marjorie M. Bouchard entered into eternal life on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. The daughter of the late Leo H. and Margaret E. Morgan Bouchard, she is survived by her dearly loved nephew, Leo P. (fianc, Harriet Cleaveland) Bouchard of Mechanicville, three nieces, Judie Bouchard of Schenectady, Ellen (Lou) Caruso of Waterford and Valerie (Ken) Brooks of West Palm Beach, FL; also three grandnieces, one grandnephew and one great-grandniece. She was pre-deceased by her brother Leo J. Bouchard. Receiving both her Bachelors and Masters degrees from the College of St. Rose, she treasured the over fifty years she spent in the field of education. She mostly cherished the years spent at Watervliet High School, with her many wonderful colleagues and students. In addition she taught evenings at the Educational Opportunity Center in Troy for many years; she also taught at the Watervliet Arsenal, the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Albany and was employed by the New York State Regents Department. She was an active member of the New York State Business Teachers Association for many years, and was a member of the New York State retired Teachers Association. Since her retirement from teaching, she treasured the several years she was able to contribute to the clerical needs of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Troy, and was grateful for the many friends she made, and the people she was able to serve. Marjorie had requested that those who wish attend her funeral liturgy, which will be held on Saturday at 11:30 am in the Shrine Church of St. Anthony of Padua, State Street in Troy. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy. She had further requested that there be no public visiting hours. Marjorie's devotion to St. Padre Pio has prompted her family to suggest donations be made to the National Center for Padre Pio, Inc., 2213 Old Route 100, Barto, PA 19504, in her memory. To the family of Ms. Bouchard,
I was a student of your aunt and graduated from Watervliet High School in 1983. Through your aunt's inspiration and encouragement in the business classes that she taught, I have been able to support myself using the skills that I learned from her. I am so sorry for your loss. I have many fond memoriess of Ms. Bouchard and am grateful that I was a student of hers.

Sr. Margaret Leo was my 5th grade teacher. She remained in my thoughts from time to time.I remember her fondly as a kind and fun teacher who made learning fun. I became a teacher and she was my role model.

Dearest Marjie,
You must be so proud of Leo and Harriet. Judy is in good hands, so don't worry. It's been a pleasure knowing you all these years. I will miss seeing you in the office.

My prayers and thoughts are with you. I have loving memories of Marjorie as my 5th grade teacher at St. Brigid's and who later supported me as I began my journey to become a Sister of St. Joseph.
