Joanne Bouchard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Albert & Burpee Funeral & Cremation Services on Mar. 20, 2026.
Joanne Lorraine (Belanger) Bouchard, 74, a resident of Auburn, Maine, left this world on March 16, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of her home and the love of her family. Born on July 9, 1951, in Lewiston, Maine, Joanne's journey through life was marked by her unwavering spirit and the joy she brought to those around her. Her legacy is one of boundless love, artistic flair, and a generosity that knew no bounds.

Joanne's life was a testament to the power of love, a love that was beautifully exemplified in her marriage of 55 years to her beloved husband, Ronald R. Bouchard. Together, they created a family and a home of happiness and support, instilling values of kindness, love and importance of family. Her daughters, Stacy Eager and husband Edward of Largo, Florida and Amy Sheehy and husband Sean of Sabattus, Maine, as well as her beloved dog Gidget, were the pride of Joanne's life.

As a grandmother, Joanne's heart swelled with pride for her granddaughter Maegan Poisson and husband Devon, and her grandsons Ian Sheehy and Gavin Sheehy. Each of them carried a piece of her spirit into the world.

Though she was preceded in death by her father Arthur Belanger, her mother Carmelle, and her brother Raymond Belanger, Joanne's life was a living tribute to their memory, embodying the best of what they taught her. Joanne is survived by her brothers, Richard Belanger and Roger Belanger his girlfriend Denise Keene, who all share in the family's rich story of memories.

A proud graduate of Lewiston High School in 1970, Joanne's professional life was as varied as it was fulfilling. From the delicate art of cake decorating to the bustling atmosphere of gift shops and retail stores, she brought her touch of kindness to every endeavor. Her time as a front desk clerk at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston was marked by her radiant smile and her ability to make every guest feel at home.

Joanne's faith as a Christian guided her through life's challenges with grace and resilience. The words that best describe Joanne-creative, loving, generous-are but a glimpse into the heart of a woman who lived to make the world a brighter place. She painted her life with the colors of joy and kindness, leaving behind a legacy that will inspire generations to come.

Her interests were a window into her soul: baking treats that delighted the senses, tending to her garden with a gentle hand, and cherishing every moment spent with her family. In every cake she decorated, every plant she nurtured, and every life she touched, Joanne left a mark of beauty and warmth.

As we celebrate her life, we are reminded that the essence of a person's spirit is not in how they died but in how they lived. Joanne lived fully, loved deeply, and gave generously. Her story is not one of sorrow but of triumph-a life well-lived and a legacy of love that will continue to light the way for all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, March 25, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Albert & Burpee Funeral Home, 253 Pine Street, Lewiston.
